Thomas Von Arx

Prof. Dr. Thomas von Arx Born 1956. Graduation as a dental surgeon in 1980 and thesis in 1985 (University of Bern, Switzerland). Residency in private practice and surgical clinics from 1981 to 1998. Visiting assistant professor at the Department of Periodontics UTHSC San Antonio Texas/USA in 1999 (Chair: Prof. Dr. D. Cochran). Specialist in Oral Surgery in 2000, PD in 2002, an associate professor in 2008 (all at the University of Bern, Switzerland). Since September 1999 affiliated with the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology, School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern, Bern, Switzerland (Chair: Prof. Dr. D. Buser). National and international speaker with 560 lectures. Author/co-author of 181 publications/book chapters with an emphasis on apical microsurgery, oral anatomy, dental traumatology, guided bone regeneration and bone harvesting in conjunction with implant therapy. 2017 publication of the book „Clinical Oral Anatomy“ (together with Dr. Lozanoff) by Springer publishing company.
