Thomas “Tom” Large, MD, is an orthopedic trauma surgeon at Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Originally from Indiana, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Duke University, and then Alpha Omega Alpha from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Large worked at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC for nine years, completed two tours of duty in Bagram, Afghanistan, and was chief of orthopedic surgery at Travis Air Force Base in California. He completed prestigious trauma fellowships in Germany and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and was the third orthopedic surgeon for a population of 3 million at Bedford Orthopedic Hospital in Mthatha, South Africa.
