Thomas H. Gallagher MD

Thomas H. Gallagher M.D. is an attending physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine based at UWMC and Roosevelt. He is a professor of medicine and bioethics & humanities at the UW School of Medicine.
Dr. Gallagher is board certified in internal medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree from Carleton College in Minnesota and his M.D. from Harvard University. He completed his internship and residency at Washington University, St. Louis, and did a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Gallagher's clinical interest is primary care medicine. His research focuses on valuing and improving the patient-physician relationship. This focus on understanding and supporting the needs of each individual patient is equally important to his work as a primary care physician.
