Dr. Berger is German Board certified in Dermatology since 2001. He received his primary medical qualification from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, where he was granted his MD with magna cum laude. He received his training in Dermatology and Allergy at the University Hospitals in Mainz and Erlangen, Germany. After years of both clinical tasks and extensive research, he moved to the UAE in 2004, where he first headed the Department of Dermatology of a large governmental hospital, affiliated with Johns Hopkins, and later established a private medical facility in Abu Dhabi. His main areas of expertise are aesthetic medicine procedures especially for patients with pigmented skin, and the treatment of skin cancer, including surgeries, and laser and light applications such as photodynamic therapy.

Dr. Berger is international fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, fellow of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, fellow of the European Society for Lasers in Dermatology, and member of the German Society of Dermatology, amongst others. He holds a PhD (Habilitation) and is lecturer at the University Hospital of Erlangen with a regular commitment of 2 weeks lecturing per year. He is board member of the German Working Group for Dermatological Cosmetic, founding member of the Emirates Aesthetic Medicine Forum, and member of the editorial board of “Case Reports in Dermatological Medicine”, as well as reviewer for a number of high-ranking dermatological journals. Dr. Berger has been regular speaker on regional and international conferences. He has been the Chairman and Organizer of the largest conference on Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine in Abu Dhabi to date, which was EMADERM in 2009. He gives hands on training on surgical procedures for medical students on a regular basis in Germany, and he has trained many resident doctors both in Germany and the UAE.
