Thomas Winther Frederiksen is a specialist in ear, nose, and throat diseases, and works daily as a senior physician in the Ear team at Aarhus University Hospital. Here he deals with the treatment of disorders in the outer ear, middle ear, and inner ear. For many years he has dealt with the investigation and treatment of vertigo and tinnitus, including in terms of research. Within ear surgery, he has a broad background, but am particularly interested in cholesteatoma surgery (surgery for bone spurs), stapedotomy (surgery for otosclerosis), eardrum reconstructions, cochlear implantations, and other hearing-improving surgery. His Ph.D. degree, the primary aim of which was the identification of risk factors for hearing loss and tinnitus, came from Aarhus University, where he is still associated as an associate professor in ear, nose, and throat diseases.
