Dr. Bishop’s career has spanned a variety of interests. He received a thorough grounding in the science of behavior at Saginaw Valley State University (BA), Central Michigan University (MA), and Wheaton College (Psy.D.), and completed an internship at the Wichita Clinical Psychology Internship Consortium in 1998.

Dr. Bishop’s six years as a rural psychologist with Prairie View in south central Kansas provided experiences in organizational leadership and development, critical incidence, school psychology, community health, adventure-based programs, and rural primary care. A developing passion for organizational health and integrated care led Dr. Bishop to serve with Cherokee Health Systems prior to becoming a member of the Family Medicine Residency at ETSU in Johnson City Tennessee. He served as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, was the Director of Behavioral Health, and was the Clerkship director while at ETSU. He also worked within the Rural Track and was a core member of the Interprofessional Training program in the Health Science Department. Dr. Bishop also serves as the Director of Interprofessional Education at the University of Michigan Medical School.
