Theresa Anna B. Lawrence Ford MD

Theresa Lawrence Ford is Medical Director and CEO of North Georgia Rheumatology Group and an active staff member at Gwinnett Medical Center Hospitals in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She also practices in a single-specialty group in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Dr. Lawrence Ford received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She completed her residency and fellowship at Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta and is board certified in rheumatology.

Dr. Lawrence Ford is a Founding Member and member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR). She is currently a member of the National Medical Association and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rheumatology Society and an active member of the Board of Directors for the Georgia chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. She has also served as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Lupus Foundation and the Lupus Registry. She currently is Chair of the Medical and Scientific Advisory board of the National Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation, and additionally chairs the International Clinical Trials Consortium of the SSF. She has conducted research in lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren’s syndrome, and other disease states, and is a US Lead Investigator in clinical trials. She speaks nationally and internationally in the field of rheumatology and Atlanta Magazine has recognized her as a Top Doctor in her field.
