Dr. Saad graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA in 1980 with a degree in physics, magna cum laude. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He completed both his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Saad served in the United States Air Force as a nephrologist at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX from 1989 to 1993. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of Dialysis at the University of Texas Health Science Center and University Hospital in San Antonio from 1993-1999. He moved to Delaware to join Nephrology Associates in 1999.

Dr. Saad is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology/Hypertension. Dr. Saad is former President of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (asdin.com) and current Treasurer of the Vascular Access Society of the Americas (vasamd.org). He is also a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, the Medical Society of Delaware, the National Kidney Foundation, and the Renal Physicians Association.

Dr. Saad’s practice as an interventional nephrologist is focused on the management of vascular access. This includes insertion of central venous catheters for hemodialysis and other indications, and maintaining hemodialysis fistulae and grafts with radiographic imaging procedures, angioplasty, and stent placement. He has been very active in clinical research and education related to vascular access and regularly participates as faculty at medical conferences in the US & internationally. He has published numerous original scientific papers and review articles in the field of vascular access and serves as a reviewer for several medical journals. He has been program director of national vascular access conferences, most recently the VASA Hemodialysis Symposium XIV to be held in Dallas TX, May 2014.

Dr. Saad is a member of the medical staff and Chief, Section of Renal and Hypertensive Diseases at the Christiana Care Health System. He is on medical staff at St. Francis Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital, and Union Hospital. He sees office patients in Nephrology Associates Newark office and performs interventional procedures in the Nephrology Associates Vascular Access Center as well as Christiana, Wilmington, & St. Francis Hospitals.
