Theddy Slongo MD

Dr. Theddy Slongo began his career 44 years ago as a specialist in pediatric surgery. He then specialized in Pediatric Traumatology and Pediatric Orthopedics as well as Vascular Surgery. He then worked for many years as Senior Surgeon at the Children’s Clinic in Bern before becoming also Head of Pediatric Surgery and Child Traumatology. He is a member of most Traumatological Societies and a Corresponding Member in ten different countries. However, the AO and the development of child-specific implants (LCP Pediatric Hip Plate / Elastic Nailing System / End-Caps for ESIN) and operating methods in traumatology are particularly of his main interest. For all these developments, he got the AO-Innovation price. He is also a member and founder of AO’s Pediatric Expert Group and Chairman of the External Fixator expert group of AO.
