Dr. Porntaveetus is the Assistant to the Dean of Research, Innovation, and Strategic planning and the head of the Genomics and Precision Dentistry Research Unit, Faculty of Dentistry which was awarded the Excellence Research Unit of Chulalongkorn University in 2020. Her work aims to integrate Medicine, Dentistry, Biological Science, and multi-omics technologies to explore molecular pathogenesis and provide personalized health care for patients affected by connective tissue and oriental disorders including skeletal dysplasias, cleft palate, dental anomalies, and tooth defects. In collaboration with the Center of Excellence for Medical Genomics, Chulalongkorn University and Excellence Center in Medical Genomics and Precision Medicine, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Dr. Thantrira's research team has worked towards the discovery of novel knowledge and expansion of high-quality research in multiomics in the era of Precision Medicine and Dentistry.
Dr. Thantira has published widely in the field of genomics and molecular biology with more than 40 international publications in top-tier international journals including Nature Genetics, PNAS, Journal of Dental Research, and British Journal of Dermatology. She is currently an editor and reviewer of peer-reviewed international journals, a current member of Thailand’s Rare and Undiagnosed Disease Network, Genomics Thailand, and a Treasurer of the Thai Society of Human Genetics.
