Dr. Thanos Patelis is a Research Scholar at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education and Principal Scientist in the Educational Policy Impact Center (EPIC) at the Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO), a nonprofit organization focused on conducting applied research in human capital management, education, policy analysis, program evaluation, and training. He was previously Senior Associate at the National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment and a Vice President at the College Board, where he was responsible for statistical analysis and research examining the impact of assessments and educational initiatives.

Dr. Patelos’s research into measurement and education is reflected in over 70 publications and 125 presentations. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and has served as chair of APA’s Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessment. He is head of psychology for the Athens Institute for Education and Research, and is associate editor for Applied Measurement of Education. Dr. Patelos earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of the Holy Cross, his master’s in experimental psychology from Fordham University, and his Ph.D. in Psychometrics also from Fordham University.
