Thalia Georgiou BA, MSc

Thalia is the Managing Partner at Asia Care Group, a specialist firm focused on the delivery of healthcare strategy and financing engagements across the Asia-Pacific region. Previously, Thalia was the Head of Health at a Big 4 firm and led their healthcare practice out of Hong Kong. Thalia has 15 years’ senior healthcare management experience, and has worked across the industry – with Governments, development organisations, INGO’s and public and private payors and providers on complex system change. Her principal areas of focus are health reform, financing and economic reviews, and she has served an international clientele including advising the Governments of the UK, Hong Kong, Bermuda, Vietnam, the Philippines and Canada on health system design, regulation and financing issues. Thalia’s recent engagement’s include reviewing social health insurance systems and UHC development in Vietnam, supporting healthcare market entry across Asia for a FTSE 100-listed firm and supporting novel financing of high-cost therapeutics across Asia to improve patient access to new treatments. Prior to coming to Asia, Thalia was formerly the Head of Public Health for London and led the planning of public health services in the UK capital. She has also worked extensively in NHS Hospitals, principally on cost-containment, turnaround and restructuring. Thalia chairs, speaks and writes widely on delivering change in Asia’s health sector including chairing the Annual health Insurance Asia Summit and being Guest health Editor for the South China Morning Post.
