Thaise Goncalves Araujo received her PhD in Genetics and Biochemistry at the Universidade Federal de Uberlandia. She did an internship at the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), National Institute of Health (NIH)-USA, assisting in the molecular development of anti-HIV monoclonal antibodies. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, participating and developing research projects applied to oncology and infectious diseases, with emphasis on methods and techniques of cell and molecular biology and biotechnology, for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Thaise coordinates the Laboratory of Genetics and Biotechnology (GBio) and leads a research group in the following areas: molecular oncology, phage display in mapping peptides binding to different targets; bioengineering of Fab and scFv antibody fragments displayed on phages, and prospection of drugs for oncological treatment. Received the Octávio Frias de Oliveira award, promoted by the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo, in the Technological Innovation in Oncology modality in 2015. She was the coordinator of the Biotechnology undergraduate course at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia - Patos de Minas campus (from 2015 to 2018) and works as a professor in the Postgraduate Programs in Genetics and Biochemistry (PPGGB) and in Biotechnology (PPGBIOTEC) at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Researcher at INCT in Theranostics and Nanobiotechnology (INCT-TeraNano).
