Terry R. Light, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic hand surgeon who specializes in the care of pediatric hand conditions. He has been on our hospital staff since 1980. He also practices at Loyola University Medical Center where he served as the Dr. William Scholl Professor and chair of orthopaedic surgery for 25 years. He is currently interim dean and chief diversity officer of the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.

He has served as president of several organizations, including the Chicago Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Orthopaedic Association, Academic Orthopaedic Society and Illinois Orthopaedic Society. He is the current historian of the American Orthopaedic Association, the vice chair of the ACGME Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Review Committee and the vice chair of the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand. He chairs the American Society for Surgery of the Hand International Committee.
