Teresa Bonello is a Research Fellow at The Australian National University. She is an Australian scientist working on key biological questions that explore the basis of human health and disease. At the University of North Carolina she uses the humble fruit fly to ask how we build functional tissues - specifically the tissue that surrounds our organs and body (skin). It is from these tissue types that the majority of cancers arise. Having completed his doctorate in therapeutic drug development for the treatment of childhood cancer, She is very passionate about understanding how current and new tools can be leveraged for better drug screening.
