Dr. Tengku Mohamed Izam Tengku Kamalden is the head department and senior consultant ENT surgeon since 2004 for his hospital. His ENT training started in 1994 in National University of Malaysia. He pursued his postgraduate training in North Riding Infirmary, Middlesbrough, UK from 1995 till completion of his FRCS in Edinburgh in 1997. He was designated as specialist registra in hospital kuala lumpur before continuing as consultant in present hospital. His interest in Otology started in 2005 and had his training with Prof Jens Thomsen in Gentofte hospital Copenhagen for a year.

Dr Tengku Kamalden also had the opportunity to have fellowships attachment with Dr Mario Sanna in Picenza Italy as well as in Causse Ear Clinic Bezier France with Dr Robert Vincent. His endoscopic ear surgery started in Sydney 2014 with Dr Joao Flavio Noguiera and Dr Nirmal Patel and has been enrolled as member of international workgroups of EES. He has conducted his own three major international course on temporal bone and endoscopic ear surgery since then. He is holding the post of chairman of Malaysia Cochlear Implant program since 2015. He is also the board of examiners for master in surgery (ORL).
