Tara Brown

Dr Tara Brown is a Paediatric Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney working in acute paediatrics and ambulatory care. She has a keen interest in multidisciplinary medical education, especially through in situ simulation. Dr Brown is committed to developing a coaching culture in medicine after her own previous positive experience in London. She has implemented a coaching program for junior doctors across five hospitals in Sydney and sits on an Australian working party ‘coaching for doctors’. She completed her Level 1 Certification in Organisational Coaching at the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership in 2017. Coaching differs to the mentoring and supervision models traditionally used in medicine, and instead is coachee led and goal focussed, enabling people to reach their full potential.
