Tao Wang, PhD, is a Tenure-Track Associate Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology in the Division of Discovery Science at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He leads research at the intersection of computational biology, immunogenomics, and cancer informatics, developing advanced statistical and machine-learning methods to analyze high-dimensional biological data and better understand immune responses in cancer and other diseases.

Dr. Wang earned his PhD in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics & Integrative Biology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, following an MS in Statistics and a BS in Life Sciences. His work has produced influential contributions to spatial transcriptomics, T-cell receptor repertoire analysis, and predictive models for immune interactions, advancing both fundamental understanding and translational applications in cancer research.

An active leader in the scientific community, Dr. Wang has presented at national and international conferences and has secured competitive research funding, including NIH and cancer research grants. His interdisciplinary approach bridges computational method development with biological discovery to support next-generation diagnostics and therapies.
