Tanya Miura PhD

Tanya Miura While earning a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Colorado State University, in 2000. She worked in a research lab studying the movement and detection of viruses in water systems. She conducted her graduate work at Colorado State University, where she used molecular technologies to inhibit the replication of mosquito-borne viruses. After obtaining her Ph.D., she was a postdoctoral researcher at the National Jewish Hospital in Denver, where she studied the immune-mediated killing of tumor cells that express viral tumor antigens. She held a second postdoctoral position at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where she began studying the pathogenesis of coronavirus infections. She has continued this research at the University of Idaho.
