Tanya L. Kowalczyk Mullins MD, FSAHM, FAAP

Dr. Tanya L. Kowalczyk Mullins, MD, MS, FSAHM, FAAP is a board‐certified adolescent medicine physician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, OH. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC) and Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC). She completed a residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital (Nashville, TN), a clinical fellowship in adolescent medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and a research fellowship also at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Her primary research interest is the prevention of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among adolescents. Her current research focuses on the prevention of HIV through the use of new biomedical HIV prevention methods among youth. Her currently funded work examines the role of clinicians in the uptake of HIV and other STI prevention methods. She has active research collaborations locally and nationally. Her clinical interests include reproductive health and adolescent gynecology, and she has presented on these topics locally, regionally, and nationally. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine as the secretary‐treasurer.
