Dr. Tanmoy Chakraborty is presently serving as a Professor, at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, School of Basic Sciences and Research, Sharda University. He is holding additional responsibility as Deputy Registrar (HR) of Sharda University. Dr. Tanmoy formerly served as Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, School of Basic Sciences and Research, Sharda University. In addition, he also served as Associate Professor of Chemistry at the School of Engineering, Presidency University, Bengaluru, and Department of Chemistry, School of Basic Sciences, Manipal University Jaipur, Jaipur, and was discharged the responsibilities of several senior administrative and leadership positions.
Dr. Tanmoy has been working in the challenging field of computational and theoretical chemistry for the last 14 years. His research interest spreads over Conceptual Density Functional Theory and its applications in material property, chemical reactivity, and QSAR / QSPR studies. Dr. Chakraborty has published a good number of research papers (more than 60) in peer-reviewed international journals with high impact factors. He has edited a number of research books and written a few book chapters with International reputed publishing houses. Currently, he is holding the position of Associate Editor of the Journal of Engineering Education Transformations (SCOPUS indexed). Dr. Chakraborty served as an international editorial board member of the International Journal of Chemoinformatics and Chemical Engineering, IGI Global, USA. He is also on the reviewer panel of several international journals belonging to the American Chemical Society, Elsevier, Springer, etc.
Prof Chakraborty has performed as Editor-in-Chief of the book series titled ‘Innovations in Computational Chemistry, published by Apple Academic Press, and as Guest Lead Editor of the special issue of Theoretical Chemistry accounts, Springer. He is co-editing a special issue for the Journal of Physical Organic Chemistry. Dr. Chakraborty is the recipient of the prestigious Paromeswar Mallik Smawarak Padak, from Hooghly Mohsin College, Chinsurah (University of Burdwan), in 2002
