Dr Tacson Fernandez is a consultant in pain medicine and specialises in interventional chronic pain management, balancing it with a multidimensional model including cognitive, behavioural, pharmacological, interventional and rehabilitative strategies. Dr Tacson Fernandez completed his Anaesthetic training at the Imperial School of Anaesthesia in London. His training in Pain Medicine was obtained by working and visiting pain clinics across the UK, Europe and USA.

He completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Dr Fernandez also obtained the Fellowship in Pain Medicine - Ireland and Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice awarded by the World Institute of Pain in 2009. At the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital at Stanmore, Dr Fernandez is the Lead Clinician of the Neuromodulation centre offering complex chronic pain patients the option of Spinal Cord stimulators and Peripheral nerve stimulators according to NICE guidelines.

Dr Fernandez's interests in interventional pain management include a range of interventional therapies including facet joint injections/epidurals in the cervical, lumbar and thoracic areas, rhizolysis/radiofrequency denervation, pulsed radiofrequency procedures, dorsal root ganglion blocks, selective nerve blockade, peripheral electrical stimulation, spinal cord stimulators, peripheral nerve stimulators, sympathetic plexus blocks, stellate ganglion blocks and other peripheral nerve block techniques to manage pain.
