TJ Cradick, PhD has developed nucleases, genome editing and gene therapy reagents and methods for more than a decade. Recent work has focused on CRISPR/Cas nucleases (see publication list). Previously, we developed and studied TAL Effector Nucleases (TALENs), and Zinc Finger Nucleases (ZFNs). Many of these studies in academia or industry included measuring and improving specificity.

TJ was Director of the Protein Engineering Facility at the Georgia Institute of Technology where the research included assays for CRISPR specificity and assays for off-target events. These assays are essential to develop and validate new CRISPR reagents (CRISPR 2.0) that are being applied to gene therapy targets. TJ’s undergraduate degree is from MIT, Masters from UCSF and PhD from the University of Iowa.
