Dr. Szilard Voros assembled the founding team and established Global Genomics Group, LLC in early 2012. Dr. Voros is a clinical cardiologist, who received his medical degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from the Medical School of Pecs in Pecs, Hungary. He completed his Internal Medicine training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He then went on to complete his sub-specialty training in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where he also served as Chief Cardiovascular Fellow. At the University of Virginia, he developed his research interest in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and obtained extensive training in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, and was one of the first physicians in the United States to obtain Level III certification in echocardiography, cardiovascular MRI and cardiovascular CT. After completion of his cardiovascular fellowship, Dr. Voros joined initially Piedmont Hospital, which later became the Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta, GA, as Medical Director of Cardiovascular MRI and CT, Chief of Cardiovascular Prevention and as Chief Scientific Officer. During his tenure at Piedmont Heart Institute, Dr. Voros completed numerous investigator-initiated research studies establishing and validating novel non-invasive imaging approaches for the characterization of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, as well as studies investigating genetic and genomic and other biomarker underpinnings of heart disease.

Dr. Voros currently holds an academic position at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, New York, as a Visiting Professor of Radiology and Medicine/Cardiology. In addition, Dr. Voros serves as Chief Clinical Strategy Officer of Health Diagnostic Laboratory in Richmond, VA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow and Founding Member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Fellow of the American Heart Association. He previously was the Chair of the Research and Clinical Trials Committee for the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Vice President of the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging and Prevention. Dr. Voros has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications in the general fields of cardiovascular imaging, biomarkers and genomics. He lectures extensively nationally and internationally in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. He also serves as Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Hemoshear, LLC in Charlottesville, VA.
