Sylvain Rheims, MD, Ph.D., is a Professor of Neurology at Lyon 1 University, Chair of the Department of Functional Neurology and Epileptology at Hospices Civils de Lyon, and co-leader of the Translational and Integrative Research Group in Epilepsy Research (TIGER Team) at Lyon’s Neuroscience Research Center (INSERM U1028 / CRNS UMR 5292). He is an expert in epilepsy and coordinates the epilepsy surgery program as well as the Human Brain Signal Platform of Lyon’s Neuroscience Research Center. His main research areas are the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of new antiepileptic treatments and the development of innovative therapeutic strategies for epilepsy comorbidities, especially cognitive disorders and SUDEP.
