Sylvain Ausset

Dr Ausset has served in the French Army for 30 years, first as a physician in combat units and as an anaesthesiologist since 1997. He has been deployed in Bosnia, Kosovo, Chad and Afghanistan. He is now head of anaesthesiology and intensive care unit of Percy military hospital at Clamart (France) in the suburb of Paris. He is part of the French military committee on transfusion on the battlefield and has authored several publications on the French lyophilized plasma and the use of fresh whole blood. He is involved on medical education for physicians deployed with combat units with a special focus on teamwork and human factor.
