Dr. S.Wamique Yusuf is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He obtained his medical degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. He pursued his Internal Medicine training in the United Kingdom, where his research included; prospective studies on the effect of helicobacter pylori on fibrinogen level in the elderly population with coronary artery disease and the impact of spironolactone on quality of life in elderly patients with heart failure.

He moved to the USA in 1996 and completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas, Houston. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is heavily involved in the clinical training of fellows and medical students and is also the Program Co-Director for the ACC Cardiovascular Board Review. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He is a clinical cardiologist, with a research interest in the cardiovascular side effects of radiation therapy and management of coronary artery disease, valvular disease, and pulmonary embolism in the cancer population.
