Sven Christian Weber MD

Dr. med. Sven Weber has studied medicine in Berlin, Cape Town, and Budapest, he started working as a physician at the Charite University Medical Center Berlin. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the Charité with a special focus on neonatology, pediatric intensive care, and cardiology, followed by a fellowship in pediatric intensive care. Currently, Sven works at the German Heart Institute Berlin and is going to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology in early 2017.

Sven conducted his experimental doctor thesis on the effect of endothelin-1 on the regulation of surfactant synthesis. His actual research focusses on vascular biology, especially on ductus arteriosus biology in neonates and infants. He hopes that his work within the European Paediatric Pulmonary Vascular Disease (PVD) Network will help improve the understanding and clinical care of neonates and infants with pulmonary hypertension (PH).
