Suzanne Oakley BSN

Suzanne has worked as cancer and palliative care nurse for approximately 16 years in both clinical and management positions. She received her Master’s in Nursing from Griffith University in 2013 and was a Mentor with the Griffith University-Industry Mentoring Program for 2 years. It was during this time that Suzanne’s interest in the “new” nurse included teaching and supporting the undergraduate student nurse studying at Griffith University as well as collaborating with Fatima College of Health Sciences undergraduate nurses in the United Arab Emirates to pass their licensure exams.

For the past 6 years, she has worked as a Cancer Nurse Educator and a Clinical Resource Nurse / Manager in Australia and the United Arab Emirates. In the United Arab Emirates, as well as working clinically, Suzanne is working at a local and national level as part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) Haematology Oncology Nursing Advisory Group developing policy and clinical guidelines, standardizing cancer nursing education and competencies and the introduction of a postgraduate Oncology Nursing Course.
