Sushila Rani Dalal MD

Sushila Dalal, MD, cares for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). She is interested in the unique challenges that face women with IBD. Together with a multidisciplinary team of experts, she is working to develop a comprehensive program that focuses on pregnancy and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Dalal's research interest is focused on the impact of the intestinal microbiota on host gene expression and the development of inflammation. In particular, she has been studying the development of changes in the microbiota and host gene expression in ulcerative colitis patients who have undergone colectomy and the creation of an ileal pouch.
