Susana Correia, PhD, is a neuroscience and pharmacology leader with over a decade of experience in neuromuscular research and drug development. She currently serves as Director of Neuromuscular Research at Dyne Therapeutics, where she leads strategic and scientific initiatives focused on advancing therapies for neuromuscular disorders. Before this role, Correia was Associate Director of Pharmacology at Dyne Therapeutics, contributing to the progression of innovative therapeutic programs. She also held the position of Associate Director of In Vivo Pharmacology at Praxis Precision Medicines, where she specialized in translational research and preclinical pharmacology.
Correia earned her PhD in Biochemistry, with a specialization in Molecular Biology, from the University of Coimbra. Her doctoral research focused on the regulation of AMPA receptor activity and cellular trafficking, including the interaction between AMPA receptor subunits and Protein Kinase C. She also holds a master ’s-level background in Cell Biology. Her expertise spans neuroscience, in vivo pharmacology, and translational research, with a strong track record of advancing scientific discovery toward clinical application.
