Susan C. Miller, PhD, is Professor Emerita of Health Services, Research & Practice at Brown University School of Public Health. Her PhD training was in gerontology and epidemiology. Dr. Miller’s research focuses on the study of palliative and hospice care, and nursing home quality and access more generally.

Dr. Miller was the principal investigator on a NIA-funded study (R01 AG048940) that used longitudinal nursing home survey data to evaluate how changes in culture change practice implementation affect quality outcomes, and a NIA-funded study (R21AG042550) examining the impact of the receipt of palliative care consults in nursing homes on hospital and emergency room use near the end of life. She was also a co-investigator on a VA QUERI project titled, Implementing Goals of Care Conversations with Veterans in VA LTC Settings.
