Susan Hawkins rejoined Henry Ford Health System in July 2016 as the Senior Vice President of Population Health. She is responsible for providing administrative leadership in developing and implementing a system-wide approach to population health to drive improved outcomes at lower costs. Ms. Hawkins has extensive experience in implementing large-scale, innovative changes to strategies and processes, as well as expertise in clinical quality and safety, analytics, strategic planning and business development, project management, and organizational change. She is also an expert in the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence.

Before returning to Henry Ford, Ms. Hawkins was Senior Vice President & Chief Quality Officer for the Detroit Medical Center. At DMC, she led a newly consolidated, system-wide team of professionals responsible for quality and safety performance, including researching, designing, implementing, and monitoring best practices in evidence-based clinical processes, high-reliability safety programs, infection prevention and epidemiology, regulatory readiness, and organizational sustainability. Ms. Hawkins is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the boards of Inforum and the Gleaners Community Food Bank.
