Dr. Susan Ciotti is the Director of Formulations at Nanobio Corporation in Ann Arbor Michigan. She is responsible for developing novel formulations to support the nanoemulsion platform, process optimization and scale-up activities, as well as, CTM (clinical trial material) manufacturing for nanoemulsions. She also contributes to a strong product pipeline by providing leadership in the formulations area and IP protection of novel formulations to enter clinical development for new anti-microbial and vaccine indications.

Before joining with NanoBio, she was an Associate Research Fellow at Pfizer Global R&D in Ann Arbor. She led a group, which supported all the Dermatology Discovery formulation efforts and Phase 1/POC vehicles for Dermatology programs. Before joining Pfizer December 2001, she was a Principal Scientist in the Topical Formulations & Drug Delivery Technology Resource Center at Johnson & Johnson, Skillman NJ and worked on various conventional and novel dosage forms (e.g. topical, transdermal drug delivery, injectables, etc).

She received a B.S. in Biochemistry & Toxicology from Eastern Michigan University and M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Michigan in the College of Pharmacy under the guidance of Dr. Norman Weiner. She was a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, Medical Center in the field of topical gene therapy. Susan was also served as a member of a NIH Gene Therapy Grant Review Committee.

Susan is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She lectures on Advanced Drug Delivery Systems. She has a number of peer-reviewed publications and has patents in this area and manufacturing methods. She is also a reviewer for several journals and has been an invited speaker at several international conferences in the field of novel drug delivery technologies.
