Suresh Rattan, Ph.D., D.Sc. is a Professor Emeritus of Biogerontology affiliated with the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, Denmark. His research areas and expertise include the aging of human cells and the application of the concept of mild stress-induced hormesis as a modulator of aging and longevity. He is a recipient of the prestigious Lord Cohen Medal in Gerontology from the British Society for Research on Ageing (BSRA) and an Honorary Doctorate from the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (St. Petersburg branch). He is the discoverer of the healthy aging effects of kinetin and zeatin.

He has published more than 300 scientific articles and has authored/edited/co-edited 25 books, including books for children, public and research scientists. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Biogerontology – an international peer-reviewed journal published by Springer-Nature. He is the present Chairman of the Biological Section of the European Region of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG-ER).
