Dr. Suki Ahluwalia is an English, fellowship-trained specialist Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgeon. Suki studied at the prestigious University College London and Imperial College London, both consistently named in the Top 5 Universities of the World. During university, he studied for a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and also a Bachelor of Science.
He then undertook extensive pre-specialist training in Surgery throughout London and also completed a Masters's of Surgery degree at Imperial College London. In 2006 he was awarded a place on the UK's foremost, highly competitive specialist training program in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, in London. During this time he studied and was trained at some of the World's best-known ENT hospitals within Central London. He was a training registrar beneath the leading Professors and Surgeons in Otology, Rhinology and Sinus Surgery, Laryngology, Head and Neck Cancer Surgery, Paediatric ENT, and Facial Plastic Surgery, in particular Rhinoplasty.
He was also the President of the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training, has written 18 peer-reviewed scientific research papers and 3 book chapters. He won the St Bartholomew's and Royal London Hospital Temporal Bone Dissection prize. In 2010 he was awarded and admitted to the Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of England. After winning the Lionel Colledge and Nan Blofeld prizes from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he was able to travel to Australia in 2012 to commence ENT fellowship training at Princess Alexandra and Logan Hospitals in Brisbane, where he gained extensive experience in Head and Neck Cancer surgery and general ENT training. He also gained experience in the management of Indigenous hearing problems.
Following this Suki worked in Townsville and now has settled in Cairns and practices at the Cairns Public, Cairns Day Surgery, and Cairns Private Hospitals. He is also an adjunct Senior Lecturer at James Cook University. He has been awarded and admitted to the Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons FRACS and has specialist registration with AHPRA. Suki's numerous other interests include scuba diving, underwater photography, cars, and trying to play guitar, in fact, all of the underwater pictures on this site were taken by him in Queensland.
