Dr Sujatha Ramakrishna is a Chennai-based qualified embryologist and IVF specialist and works for Cloudnine Hospitals said, “The field of infertility is very recent, both clinically and scientifically. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), there are no specific guidelines on who should be a qualified embryologist. Basically, embryologists are reproductive biology scientists, though in India there is no proper course offered for the same. Most of the courses are run by hospitals and they may or may not be affiliated.“
