Stuart Evans PhD

Dr Stuart Evans (PhD, First Class Hons) has worked as a sport and exercise scientist, a teacher, a teacher educator, and in physical education teaching and sport development since 2016. Stuart is a current Lecturer in Teacher Education, Physical Education, Sport & Movement and Course Coordinator for the Master of Education at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Stuart is a multi-disciplinary researcher with an applied exercise and sport science, teaching, teacher education, and health and physical education (HPE) pedagogy background.

Stuart also lectures in biomechanics and motor control and remains an active researcher of how wearable technology can be used for biomechanical performance analysis and performance interventions. In addition, Stuart’s research includes the fields of wearable technology in HPE, action-based pedagogy in HPE, curriculum, and learning outcomes in initial teacher education and recently graduated HPE teachers. Stuart is also the education director for STEMfit, an NGO that creates exciting engaging, inquiry-based STEM educational experiences through the lens of physical activity, health, well-being, and sport.

Stuart is also an established publisher and peer reviewer for Sports Biomechanics (ISBS), Frontiers in Sports and Active Living, Strategies, BMC Biomedical Engineering, Symmetry (MDPI), Teachers and Teaching, Children (MDPI), Education Sciences (MDPI), Sensors (MDPI), Applied Science (MDPI), Biomechanics (MDPI), International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (MDPI), Research Directs in strength and Performance, Journal of Science and Cycling, and Journal of Sports Engineering and Technology (Proc IMechE Part P). He is an editorial board member for the US-based journal Research Directs in Strength and Performance and has served as a guest editor for MDPI’s Biomechanics and has been recognized as an Exceptional Reviewer for MDPI’s Children journal.
