Stuart Callary was research uses new musculoskeletal imaging techniques to assess the outcomes of patients who have undergone lower limb surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Callary has been the Senior Medical Scientist in the Orthopaedic and Trauma Department since 2009 and currently the RAH Mary Overton Research Fellow (2020-2022). Callary research has focused on improving the outcomes of patients undergoing hip replacement surgery. Callary an international leader in the use of Radiostereometric Analysis (RSA), a 3D radiographic measurement technique, to accurately monitor implant movement, spinal fusion, tendon lengthening and fracture fixation.

Callary has developed a broad knowledge and skill set within all aspects of clinical research and has become a passionate advocate for translating research findings into improved clinical outcomes that benefit both the health care system and individual patients. Working alongside clinicians, nurses, allied health, scientists, and students, Callary has been actively involved in all facets of multi-disciplinary projects within the Quality Assurance and Research Program.
