Dr Stuart A Ross is a graduate of the University of Otago, New Zealand (1965). From there, he went on to receive his MRACP designation in 1970 and his FRACP in 1974 from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. In Canada, he has been a member of FRCP(C) since 1980.
Currently, Dr Ross is Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary. He has just completed his 25th year at the university. He is also Director of the Calgary Metabolic Education and Research Centre, where he is actively involved in diabetes education and research. As a well-known expert in the field of diabetes,
Dr Ross actively advises on diabetes treatment issues. He has been a member of both the Federal Task Force on Diabetes and the Federal Canadian Diabetes Advisory Board. Past appointments have included terms as Diabetes Research Fellow at McGill University in Montreal (1972-1976) and Chairman of the Clinical and Scientific Section of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
