Stuart A. Montgomery MBBS, MD, FRCPsych

Stuart A. Montgomery, MBBS, MD, FRCPsych was a Professor of Psychiatry at Imperial College, University of London until his retirement in 1996 when the title of Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry was conferred. He was President of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) from 1992 to 1995 and President of the British Association of Psychopharmacology from 1990 to 1992. He has been a member of the Committee on the Safety of Medicines. He is the Editor of International Clinical Psychopharmacology and was co-Editor of European Neuropsychopharmacology for twenty years. Early in his career, he developed the widely used MADRS and he is well known for his research into the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety disorders.
