Steven Sun Bin MD

Dr. Steven Bin is the medical director of the Children’s Emergency Department at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital-San Francisco. He is also the Physician Lead for Pediatric Emergency Medicine Informatics, UCSF Health. Bin earned a medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed a pediatrics residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the University of Miami School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. He is particularly interested in medical education, pediatric airway management, health care quality improvement, and health information technology.

Bin is the recipient of numerous awards, including The Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators Excellence in Teaching Award and the Faculty Teaching Award from the Department of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is an associate professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at UCSF.
