Steven Kanter MD, FACS

Steven Kanter, MD, FACS, brings more than 35 years of experience in general and vascular surgery to South Florida Surgical Group, serving the population throughout Miami-Dade County. Dr. Kanter earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, graduating summa cum laude. The medical degree was obtained from the Medical College of Georgia, followed by general and vascular surgery residency at Jackson Health System. Dr. Kanter has participated in research studies for the Rockefeller Foundation.

He has published multiple articles for several respected journals and textbooks. Dr. Kanter is the founding partner of SFSG in 1985. He has served as the prior chief of staff and chairman of general and vascular surgery at multiple local hospitals. He maintains membership in several surgical societies and has held faculty appointments at UM, FIU, and Emery School of Medicine. Dr. Kanter has hospital privileges at Baptist, South Miami, and Jackson Health Care Hospital Systems. He welcomes anyone in need of general or vascular surgery to South Florida Surgical Group today.
