Steven J. Mcanany MD

Dr. Steven McAnany is an Assistant Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. McAnany's research interests lie in the cost-effectiveness analysis of spine surgery, including cervical disc replacements, discectomies, fusions, and minimally invasive surgery. He has authored over 50 articles, book chapters, and textbooks. Dr.McAnany is involved in the design of innovative surgical techniques with an emphasis on developing implants and techniques to improve surgical fusion rates.

Dr. McAnany received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. He then completed fellowship training in spine surgery at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. McAnany is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a reviewer for the Global Spine Journal.
