Steven J. Hoff, M.D., joined Orlando Health Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in 2014. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, his areas of practice include cardiac and thoracic surgery.

Dr. Hoff received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He completed his internship in general surgery, a research fellowship in cardiac surgery, and a residency in cardiac and thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In private practice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville until 2007, Dr. Hoff then joined the faculty at Vanderbilt.

As a noted leader in his field, his research and training interests include minimally invasive and hybrid approaches to treating coronary disease and atrial fibrillation. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in several medical journals such as the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, covering a range of subjects including minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, the surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, and hybrid coronary revascularization.

Dr. Hoff is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, and other professional organizations. A member of the Orlando Health Heart Institute, he also serves as the Associate Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center and is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida School of Medicine in Orlando.
