Steven Haimowitz, MD is the president of RealCME. He earned his medical degree from Downstate Medical School in New York and did his clinical training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He entered the field of educational technology over 20 years ago and developed some of the earliest online health-focused education platforms for providers and patients.
In 2007, Dr. Haimowitz co-founded RealCME, an education technology company focused on optimizing health professional digital learning through innovative instructional designs, learner engagement, and advanced analytics. His efforts have focused on moving learners beyond entrenched clinical inertia to the implementation of positive changes in their own behaviors and in their interactions with their colleagues, including the adoption of patient-centric approaches and shared decision-making. The RealCME platform enables the design, authoring, publishing, delivery, and assessment of a variety of educational experiences including adaptive learning curricula, micro activity series, flipped classrooms, and small group, social learning programs. Previous to starting RealCME, Dr. Haimowitz was the founder and CEO of Healthology, an online health education and publishing company, acquired by NBC Universal in 2006.
