Steven E. Jacobsen PhD

Steve Jacobsen did his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota and postdoctoral studies at the California Institute of Technology with Elliot Meyerowitz. He joined the Department of Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology in 1998. He has received two young investigator awards for his research, from the Searle Scholars and Beckman Young Investigator Programs. He was named an HHMI Investigator in 2005, received Phillip C. Hamm Memorial Lecture Award in 2008, the Charles A. Shull Award for outstanding investigations in the field of plant biology in 2009, and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences and American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2011 and 2016 respectively.
