Steven B. Deitelzweig, MD, MMM, FACC, SFHM, FACP, RVT serves as the System Chairman for Hospital Medicine and Medical Director of Regional Business Development of Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana. He collaborates on clinical solutions to over 20 partner hospitals within the Ochsner system.

Dr. Deitelzweig earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine through Cornell University and Graduate School of Medicine/North Shore University Hospital in New York. Subsequently, he completed fellowships in vascular medicine and hepatology through the Department of Medicine at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. He holds an Executive Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of New Orleans and completed his Master of Medical Management at Tulane University, New Orleans. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School.

In addition to serving on the board of the Anticoagulation Forum, Dr. Deitelzweig is the current Chairman of the Society of Hospital Medicine’s Key Characteristics Working Group, Vice President of the Gulf States Hospitalist Society, and SHMs representative to the AMAs House of Delegates. In addition, he serves on the American College of Cardiology Accreditation Management Governing Board.
