Steve Ellen

Professor Steve Ellen is a clinician researcher in the psychosocial aspects of cancer. Steve is the director of the Psychosocial Oncology Program, which provides clinical psychiatry, psychology and social work services to patients of Peter Mac, and the director of the Department of Cancer Experiences Research, which includes research in the fields of psychiatry, behavioural science, allied health, nursing, survivorship and health services.

Steve also has an interest in writing and health communication. He has appeared for many years in various media roles, including the ABC Radio program ‘Writs & Cures’ and 3RRR’s ‘Radiotherapy’ and has written broadly for the general public on various topics related to health care, particularly mental health.
