Prof. Lim earned his Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in January 2010. He was then a Visiting Research Fellow in Geller Professor of Neurobiology Emeritus Dale Purves’s Perception Lab at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School until April, a Lecturer at the NUS from July, a Senior Lecturer at the NUS from January 2012, a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar in James V. Bradley Professor Jeffrey D. Karpicke’s Cognition and Learning Lab at Purdue University during the summer of 2015, and an Associate Professor – became hirable until 65 years of age – at the NUS from January 2017.
He currently directs the Cognition and Education Laboratory@NUS, sits on the Executive Council of the NUS Teaching Academy, and serves as an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Psychology: Educational Psychology. From 1 July 2018, Prof. Lim will be appointed to the Faculty Teaching Excellence Committee, and as Chair of the NUS Teaching Academy. Outside of academia, Prof. Lim is a competitive musician, having most recently won the Grand Prix Award (First Prize) at the 2017 Singapore Electone Festival (Senior Section), and the Silver Prize at the 2017 Asia-Pacific Electone Festival (Senior Section).
